Vinil!

Martin Solveig has been in the business for years, but exploded onto the scene last year with the almighty "Rocking Music" - one of the tunes of the year! Now he is back with a brand new album, Hedonist.

Hedonist begins with the familiar sound of Everybody. We should all know this by now, wicked guitar, wicked vocal, wicked beats. It is the remainder of the album that is the centre of everyones attention.
.
Something Better is a crisp, fast paced piece of house music. Jackson-esque vocals, dirty riff and beautiful guitar make this one of the stand out tracks on the album. Great keys as well, perhaps could be likened to some of Peyton's productions - which is always good!
.
If You Tell Me More, brings the first smooth slice of RnB to the album. Although im not a great fan of the genre I have learned to appreciate it much more particularly after listening to the tracks on Hedonism. This is a really great production that will contribute to the albums summer feel. You will listen to this by the pool!
.
Black Voices, for me is the kind of track you will hear in a bar late afternoon. Nice broken beat, beautiful female vocal and amazing percussion going on here (emphasis on the bongos!).
.
Rejection next. This has a cute riff with some guitar and some Daft Punk-style drums with a great bass section. Jackson-type vocals keep this one going.
.
Blind Rendezvous is all about Martin in a restaurant, a nice intro to the next track...
.
Dry is one of the best tracks on the album. One of the most beautiful pieces of RnB I’ve ever heard. Really nice keys, crisp & skippy beats. Truly amazing male & female vocals, I'm particularly loving the female vocal. Very smooth, very catchy, very summery - makes you smile!! This IS home/lounge/poolside listening at its absolute best. You will be humming this all summer long!
.
Something About You brings back the mid-tempo grooves with uplifting keys, bright, cheery vocals and very nice chorus section. Moves along very nicely and ends with a gorgeous piano line!
.
Jealousy is THE track of the album. Amazing guitars, uplifting bass, James Brown style vocal, quality backing/chorus vocals - nice and catchy. Great breakdown too - You'll be singing "aaaaaaaaaaah - Jealousy!" all summer long!
.
Requiem Pour Un Con is a french spoken broken beat affair with nice bass and organ in there too.
.
Now onto the final track, Don't Waste Another Day - the last slice of smooth RnB on the album. Beautiful Jackson-esque vocal - beautiful keys, bass. Nice and slow - more great poolside listening.
.
All in all, one of the best artist albums I’ve heard in a long time. Some amazing standout tracks - plus other great songs to keep your attention - this is absolutely essential! 9.5/10
